Angela AssanteMechanicsburg, PAMarch 5, 2008Dear Senator, please vote in support of the DeMint Amendment to Stop the Raid on the Social Security Trust Fund. continued from Angela Assante's letter....Did we scare you? We seniors would, afterall, be the demographic with the most power and descrectionary money. We have to unite and with one single, loud voice and clear let our imperfect government hear us say as they said in the movie, "NETWORK".... "We've had enough and we're not going to take it anymore"!! Keep your hands off our Social Security Funds...it's not yours to use, it's for those of us who have contributed to it...only. Remember, it was the democrats who started raiding it and then they started TAXING US! to add insult to injury. What a disgrace and disappointment this government had been to its citizens. I could go on forever, we have to unite and let our voices be heard.

Angela AssanteMechanicsburg, PAMarch 5, 2008Dear Senator, please vote in support of the DeMint Amendment to Stop the Raid on the Social Security Trust Fund. A pox on your house because you in the Senate think this is your little Piggy Bank!! How dare you steal "the Peoples" money and spend it on pork barrel junk. We paid into the Social Security Fund so as to secure our futures for when we retire, at which point when we are the most vulnerable when we cannot work to support ourselves. We worked to save for the last years of life on this earth and you in the government have pilfered it all away and you have taxed us on it to add insult to injury!! It is a disgrace on the government for having done this. You steal from it and then you cry to us that we have to do something to save it because it's insolvent....you're the reason it's insolvent...we did what we were supposed to do...we paid into it...it's you who have destroyed it. How much more would senior citizens be getting if it never had been raided? Yeah, what a hoot that would have been...maybe seniors would have been able to take care of themselves in the manor in which they were accustomed to living before retirement. Did we scare you? We would aft...[trimmed for length]

Morgan RobertDanielsville, PAMarch 5, 2008Dear Senator, please vote in support of the DeMint Amendment to Stop the Raid on the Social Security Trust Fund. Some in Congress have made a living redistributing tax dollars from working families to special interests. They believe that your money is best spent on a rain forest project in Iowa or the Charlie Rangel Center for Public Service in Harlem. Instead of allowing private donations or investments to pay for such projects, some members of Congress have decided that you, the taxpayer, should foot the bill. Pork barrel projects have been a problem for some time, but things have gotten much worse in recent years. Thousands of earmarks are slipped into bills without any scrutiny or debate, and have led to a massive corruption of the appropriations process. Politicians have paid lip service to changing their ways, but most of this talk has not led to action. While some Members of Congress are happily spending tax dollars on the Bridge to Nowhere or the Woodstock museum, they also dig us into a deeper hole on the issue of retirement security. These legislators are choosing their favorite pork-barrel projects over stopping the raid on the Social Security Trust Fund and s...[trimmed for length]
